Cuizine
Branding Project: Cuizine brings the world of cooking to your doorstep to explore right in your own home. New York is a place where people don’t always have time to go grocery shopping or plan what kind of meals to make for the week. For anyone who is Muslim and only eats Zabiha halal (Islamic way of preparing meat), the options become even more limited. That’s why Cuizine was created to make cooking easier in a healthier and more ethical way with Zabiha Halal, vegetarian, and vegan options. Cuizine is meant to appeal to a younger adult audience who work busy jobs in New York City.
concept
The initial logo design I planned on going with involved the “i” as part of the design with leaves instead of forks, and in a more cursive manner. I spelled the word with a “z” instead of an “s” to allude to “Zabiha”. I later came up with a more modern and fun looking design that fit the tone I was going for.
execution
I went with this design as the final product. I added the leaf below as a clear sign of the healthy and ethical approach to the brand. The change from a script to sans-serif typeface and incorporating the fork and knife into the “i” allows for a more clean and minimal look.

reflection
This project was a great way to critically think about what goes into creating a brand. There was a lot of focus on exemplifying the mission and tone through the creation of the brand, and the design aspect was enjoyable especially when it came to thinking of logomarks and patterns for the mockups. It was also nice to put an essence of me as I would be part of the target audience.
